1 dead and 5 injured in Chicago weekend shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) — Shootings in the city from Saturday have left at least one dead and five others injured.

A 37-year-old man was shot and killed while in his car in the first shooting of the weekend in the Albany Park neighborhood Friday night.

Police said at around 7:45 p.m. that the victim was in a 2009 White Chrysler in the 4400 block of North Hamlin when a dark-colored vehicle hit and a vehicle occupant fired shots, hitting the victim.

The victim fled when he hit several parked cars, causing his vehicle to roll over. The victim was transported to IL Masonic Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Two people were found shot to death in the Park Manor neighborhood.

Officers responded to a person shot in Block 700 of East 73rd, around 11:12 PM, where they discovered two individuals on the ground who had suffered gunshot wounds.

A woman, 28, was shot multiple times and transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition. A man, 54, suffered a gunshot wound to the right calf and was also transported to the University of Chicago in good condition.

Officers were unable to obtain information about the incident due to uncooperative victims about the incident.

A 55-year-old man was gunned down outside the 4300 block of West Madison on Saturday morning.

At around 8:23 a.m., the victim was approached by an unknown male perpetrator. After a short conversation, the assailant fired shots at the victim, hitting him in the right thigh.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in reasonable condition.

A woman was shot during an altercation in West Lawn on Saturday morning.

At about 8:01 a.m., the 22-year-old victim was arguing with an unknown man in a vehicle on Block 3700 of West Marquette.

The victim got out of the vehicle when the assailant fired a shot at her, according to police.

The victim was transported to Christ Hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Two men were injured in a fatal incident in West Pullman and another was killed on Saturday afternoon, Chicago police confirmed.

Police say a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were in the 11600 block of South Lowe around 2:45 p.m. when someone stopped in an unknown vehicle.

Someone then got out of that vehicle and started shooting.

The 26-year-old was shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene. The 27-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

A 64-year-old man who was nearby on a front lawn was shot in the chest and transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

None of these incidents have anyone in custody.
