“Dyson Daniels is going to be a trending topic tonight,” reporter Troy Machir tweeted, including a photo of Daniels and his mother, who was dressed in a white split dress and open-toed heels.

“NBA Twitter is going to explode after seeing Dyson Daniel’s mom,” one person tweeted.

“Dyson Daniel’s mother a generational prospect,” tweeted a separate fan.

Another person asked if Daniels would be a trending topic because of his mom or his silver metal suit — which fan compared to a “foil paper.”

Throughout the night, Daniels’ mother also shared some photos on Instagram from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Daniels previously played with the NBA G League Ignite. The Australian product made its debut for the Australian senior team during the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifier.

His father, Ricky Daniels, began a professional basketball career after playing for NC State.

Daniels’ mom wasn’t the only parent fans were obsessed with during NBA Draft night.

Chet Holmgren was taken by Oklahoma City Thunder with the No. 2 pick, but viewers were immediately drawn to his father.

Many felt that he bore a striking resemblance to movie villains such as Wolf “The Dentist” Stansson from “D2: The Mighty Ducks”.

“Chet Holmgren’s dad looks like an early 90s movie villain. Ponytail, blazer over black T-shirt,” one user joked.

Another wrote, “Chet Holmgren’s dad looks like the kindergarten cop’s villain.”
