“I would like my children to be bilingual and speak both languages. And also just have a sense of understanding of where they come from and what came before them.
The couple, who have been dating for two and a half years, know the baby’s gender but have only told close friends and family.
Channel 7 presenter Abbey Holmes commented: “Nawww the best! Congratulations guys, so exciting.”
Naitanui has represented the Eagles in 208 games since making his AFL debut in 2008. He is a three-time All-Australian and won the best and fairest award on the West Coast in 2020 and 2021.
The Eagles are currently at the bottom of the AFL ladder with one win in the first nine rounds of the 2022 season.
Naitanui and West Coast then face the GWS Giants in Sydney on Sunday afternoon, with the first bounce scheduled for 2:10pm AEST.
