Firefighters injured fighting fire in California Canyon as residents return home

Firefighting aircraft joined the work to bring down the Canyon Fire in Alameda County, California, on June 23, when residents were evacuated and local media reported two firefighters were injured. Footage captured by Anup Shah shows fire-fighting planes dropping flame retardants into a wooded area in Pleasanton on Thursday afternoon. Residents in two areas of Alameda County, including Pleasanton, were allowed to return to their homes late Thursday after evacuation orders were issued in the afternoon. Local media reported that two firefighters were injured while fighting the flames. Both were taken to hospital and are “expected to be fixed”.
