This female and black company is a work of art in itself in what it offers to people of all ages.

If you are on Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties you will see numerous new establishments including 1040 Creative.

“1040 creative is a cultural center and gallery. We are there for the community. Artist-led, artist-run,” said artist, instructor and co-owner Pauline Houston McCall.

One of the other co-owners describes it this way.

“It’s just a bubble of inspiration. We hope to inspire everyone who walks through the doors,” said artist, instructor and co-owner Sheena Garcia.

And last but not least, the vision of the third partner.

“An arts center, cultural arts center, and gallery where we celebrate the diversity of cultures,” said artist, instructor and co-owner Marcy Lois Stein.

We also discussed what they hope visitors or guests experience when they come by.

“I want them to walk away inspired,” McCall said.

“I want them to feel that they are welcome and at home and that they can explore without any hesitation in asking questions about the art,” Stein said.

There will be plenty of classes for singles, couples, young and old, experienced and beginners.

“We have a monthly schedule and we have pop-up classes that can only be released to the general public during the week,” Garcia said.
