GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – The Grand Prairie Fire Department responded Thursday afternoon to a possible drowning near the swimming beach at Joe Pool Lake.
According to the Grand Prairie Fire Department, witnesses pulled a 41-year-old man from the lake and began CPR.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man was not wearing a life jacket.
“As the lake season continues, GPFD strongly encourages the public to wear a life jacket or appropriate personal flotation device near or in the water,” the Grand Prairie Fire Department said.
