Police were called to a house in suburban Melbourne and made the horrifying discovery that a baby was dead and a woman seriously injured.
A baby was found dead Friday night and a woman seriously injured in a house in a Melbourne suburb, police said.
Officers were called to a home on Langdon Drive in Mernda about 9 p.m. after reports were made that a child had been seriously injured.
When the police arrived at the house, the child was found dead inside.
The woman, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was taken to hospital.
“Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage,” a statement from Victoria Police said.
