The two-day festival is here to energize your midweek with a range of outdoor games, food and guest talks that include world surfing champion Layne Beachley, Olympic gold medalist Kerri Pottharst and native author Paul Callaghan. Plus, crispy fried chicken from Butter and Donut Papi donuts.
Wynsideout is a new experience that aims to break your normal 9-to-5. Spread across four zones – play, eat, relax and collaborate – the two-day park festival can be tackled solo, with family, friends or colleagues.
In the essence of team spirit (or healthy rivalry) take part in archery, golf simulators, table tennis, corn hole, ring toss and Connect Four in the Play Zone. When you’re feeling on top of your game, grab a table tennis bat and take on Commonwealth Games representative Kane Townsend.
The Relax Zone offers rejuvenating massages and comfortable hammocks to lounge in, as well as the pop-up Cuppa Cafe. The coffee spot hosts a series of impressive conversations with speakers such as Wiggle Greg Page, seven-time world surfing champion Layne Beachley, Olympic gold medalist Kerri Pottharst, Indigenous author Paul Callaghan, London bomb survivor Gill Hicks and sustainability expert Jo Taranto.
In the Eat Zone, Stitch Bar hands out snacks, Butter’s crew bakes his signature crispy chicken, and Santa Ana cooks up Mexican specialties from Oaxaca. If you’re craving something sweet, Donut Papi’s donuts and 15 Inch Japanese Cheesecakes are the answer.
On tunes you’ll find Aria-nominated singer-songwriter Matt Walker, plus FBI Radio’s DJ Jack Shit who lets commercial house and turntablist DJ Klevakutz mix and scratch with signature intensity.
